If you like to make your own gifts and are looking for something a little different, then you might like this Latin bookmark. It’s double sided, with a phrase from Psalm 115 on one side and the English translation on the reverse.

The Latin reads:

Non nobis Domine non nobis sed nomini tuo da gloriam

which translates as: “Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Thy name give glory.”

The reverse also contains a few blank lines so that you can add your own special message for the recipient.

Instructions

These Latin bookmarks are perfect for last-minute gifts and are very easy to make. Simply print the first page, then put that sheet back into your printer, making sure the paper is in precisely the same place as it was the first time through.

Now laminate the sheet and then cut around each separate bookmark – you can leave a small border around each one or cut close as we have done.

Congratulations! You now have four Latin bookmarks to give away to studious friends. If desired, a hole may be punched at the top and a ribbon or tassel attached.

NB: If you’re having trouble lining up the two sides, as happens with some printers, you may need to resort to printing both sides separately then laminating them as one page.
