Latin Marian Prayer for August

August is traditionally the month dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary with the feast of the Immaculate Heart originally kept on August 22nd.

While there are many beautiful English prayers and acts of consecration to Our Lady under the title of the Immaculate Conception, I was unable to find their Latin counterparts. Instead I offer the following Latin novena prayer to Our Lady instead.

Novena to the Blessed Virgin Mary in English

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
R. Amen.

We fly to your patronage, O holy Mother of God; despise not our
petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O
glorious and blessed Virgin.

V. Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.
R. You have brought forth Him who made you, and ever remain a virgin.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that
anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your
intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, we fly unto
you, O Virgin of virgins and Mother; to you do we come; before you we stand,
sinful and sorrowful; O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our
petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer us.
R. Amen.

V. Blessed are you among women.
R. And blessed is the fruit of your womb.

O pure and immaculate and likewise blessed Virgin, who are the sinless
mother of your Son, the mighty Lord of the universe, you who are inviolate and
altogether holy, the hope of the hopeless and sinful, we sing your praises.
We bless you as full of every grace, you who bore the God-Man: we all bow low
before you; we invoke you and implore your aid. R. Amen.

(Pause here to make petitions to the Blessed Virgin Mary)

V. O Mary, conceived without sin,
R. Pray for us who have recourse to you.

Let us pray.
Holy Mary, succour the miserable, help the faint-hearted,
comfort the sorrowful, pray for the people, plead for the clergy, intercede
for all women consecrated to God; may all who keep your holy commemoration
feel now your help and protection. Be ever ready to assist us when we pray,
and bring back to us the answers to our prayers. Make it your continual care
to pray for the people of God, you who, blessed by God, merited to bear the
Redeemer of the world, who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
R. Amen.

Immaculate Heart

Novena ad Beatam Mariam Virginem

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.
R. Amen.

Sub tuum praesidium confugimus, sancta Dei Genetrix; nostras
deprecationes ne despicias in necessitatibus nostris, sed a periculis
cunctis libera nos semper, Virgo gloriosa et benedicta.
R. Amen.

V. Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum.
R. Genuisti qui te fecit, et in aeternum permanes virgo.

tua currentem praesidia, tua implorantem auxilia, tua petentem suffragia esse
derelicta. Nos tali animati confidentia ad te, Virgo Virginum, Mater,
currimus; ad te venimus; coram te gementes peccatores assistimus. Noli, Mater
R. Amen.

V. Benedicta tu in mulieribus.
R. Et benedictus fructus ventris tui.

R. Amen.

(Hic morare ad Beatam Mariam Virginem petendam)

V. O Maria, sine labe concepta,

Oremus. Sancta Maria, succurre miseris; iuva pusillanimes; refove
flebiles; ora pro populo; interveni pro clero; intercede pro devoto femineo
sexu: sentiant omnes tuum iuvamen, quicumque celebrant tuam sanctam
commemorationem. Assiste parata votis poscentium et reporta nobis optatum
effectum.
R. Amen. (SOURCE.)

Reparation to the Immaculate Heart

Our very consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary calls upon us to make reparation for the offences that we and others have committed against her. The Church, in inviting us to consecrate ourselves to her Immaculate Heart, implicitly calls upon us for this reparation. But more explicitly, and even before Fatima, Saint Pius X offered a plenary indulgence to all who on the first Saturday of the month would observe special devotions in honour of the Immaculate Virgin in a spirit of reparation for the blasphemies uttered against her.
