ABOUT LATINA ROSARII

Latina Rosarii – the Latin Primer for the Reluctant.

Many Catholics long to learn Latin but become discouraged when faced with the new terminology and huge vocabulary. Some try to teach themselves only to abandon their pursuits after a short time. 

Latina Rosarii takes a new approach, using the familiar words and phrases of the Rosary to introduce basic Latin concepts one-by-one. To avoid overwhelm, the fundamentals of English grammar are reviewed before the Latin is introduced.

Designed to be used over one school year, this course may also be accelerated or slowed down according to the needs of each student. And to make learning even easier, free Youtube videos are available for each lesson.

Each lesson includes review exercises and there is a separate Supplement for even more practice. The Supplement also includes suggestions for daily oral drill.
A Teacher Guide is available for those who need extra help or for parents who are home-educating.
It contains all the information from the Text with more detailed explanations and more examples so you can just open the book and start to teach.

Latina Rosarii takes the vocabulary of the Rosary and Angelus, teaching students to speak Latin in their daily prayers. The vocabulary is gradually introduced then used in each lesson’s exercises. Click here to see some sample pages and the table of contents.
